First unit of Convergence is done

With the current "situation" I've had just a tad of extra time with my paintbrush lately, so I started a unit for my Convergence of Cyriss, the Eradicators, a type of all robotic heavy infantry in Warmachine. The studio has them pretty monochromatic so I used a lot more contrast to make them pop. I am very happy with the off-white ceramic faceplate, in contrast to the brassy body and pink/purple light from their one eye. The studio also has a lot more glow, but I thought it would be overboard if I did that so just the eye and little backpack thing. I'm very keen on the transition from warm near the base and cool near the head as well.

I also did just a small amount of freehand to help during gameplay in the same font that the studio uses for their text blocks.

These guys were a lot of fun and only five of them is a good and manageable number so I'm actually looking forward to the next batch, especially now that I have a template to work from. Let me know what you think.

Earthdawn model, Kululu

A buddy of mine was recently nice enough to 3D print a miniature I created in HeroForge which is meant to represent my character in a campaign of Earthdawn that I've been playing about once a month. My character is Kululu, a troll shaman (originally a nethermancer but he got changed after the shaman rules were released, since that's what I wanted in the first place). But he's not your usual, nature-loving shaman, he's a street-rat. In fact, though Earthdawn doesn't have totems for shamen like Shadowrun does, I chose the Rat Totem for him anyway. So he's an urban shaman wearing some fernweave armor.

There are definitely some parts that I'm not too keen about how they did but I started feeling finished before he was done and I find it's best not to push past that point. I'm really happy about the albino rat (he was two pet rats that he likes to talk to, one named Gutter and the other named Alley). The brown rat is good too, but much harder to see. I chose a lighter highlight for the higher levels (face, chest, upper arm) to try to draw the eye to the face. The eyes have blue irises. Though they were simple (drybrush then glaze) I'm really happy with how the horns turned out. For being all one piece and printed on a personal printer (inexpensive), I expected the model to be far worse than it was but my friend did a great job with it. I would definitely try to do it again, well worth it.For scale, here he is with an Infinity model and a Warmachine model I'm working on.

A quick photo dump

I haven't been doing a ton of painting lately but I've gotten a little bit done. This weekend in particular was productive. For a lot of models I need the base done before I fix the model to it (mostly the floaty ones) so it's mostly those.

Anyway, here's all the new stuff for my Warmachine army, Convergence of Cyriss:

Elimination Servitors
Convergence of Cyriss Elimination Servitors
 Base for the Corollary
 Reflex Servitors
Convergence of Cyriss Reflex Servitors
 Base for Syntherion
Base for the collosal Prime Axiom
Corollary

Hope you like them. I've been having a lot of fun with metallics and glows, which I think do great together. I'm probably somewhere around 10% done with the models I have for this faction, so lots more to come.
