And the first squad is completed!

Alright I finally completed the first assault squad for my Angels Encarmine! Nothing too fancy, 9man squad with one meltagun (the extra slot is so a sanguinary priest can fit in the rhino too). I may have started getting lazy with the chumps in the unit I admit but I think over all they didn't come out half bad! And here they are:

And here they are with their rhino:

Let me know what you think! And keep on reading!

Rhino number uno

Well I decided to start with the Rhino of my first squad. I still have no idea what I will be doing as far as the army goes but I'm pretty confident I'll use at least one rhino. It needs a few repairs and replacements but it mostly stayed intact. This rhino not only has my first freehand but also my first attempt at weathering also so try not to be too harsh in your (numerous I'm sure) criticisms. BUT! Without farther stalling for time, here it is!

Let me know what you think and thanks for reading!

Time for some Blood Angels

The time has come. Hey everyone, I've been hoping that I would get more excited about Blood Angels in the future and guess what? I did. I am starting a new successor chapter Angels Encarmine. Their biggest little object of appeal is of course their white Death Company and Sanguinary Guard, but I also wanted to deviate from the generic scheme a bit because, frankly, it gets boring after a while.

My plan is to take my old Blood Angel army (never finished) and destroy it. Turn it all into bits. Strip the bits. Use said bits for a new army. Simple eh? I already have them mostly stripped and mostly bitted, and I started building my first squad! More to come soon!

Iron Warriors Demon Prince Conversion

Well guys I'm back from a brief hiatus from posting, which was mostly due to my lack of things to post for a while. I've been mostly involved in sports and school lately and thus haven't had much time for my blog, but this time I'm going to make sure that I start regularly posting, at least once a week if not more.

But back to gaming: Here lately now I've been working on my Iron Warriors (I know I bounce around armies like a kangaroo on crack... I'm trying okay?) and I've actually been making progress! I've painted up a "Deamon Prince," a Dreadnought, a squad of Termies and a regular squad of marines.

I know they're not painted but I still love the conversion

Sorry for those last few being such bad pictures but I just got a new computer and don't have an editing program yet, plus I have a bad camera right now.

Well that's it for now, hopefully I'll have something new for ya next time!

New Blood Angels

Well I've been looking at the new codex and I think all around it isn't too bad. When I found out that Matt Ward was writing it I was genuinely concerned for my most favorite of marine chapters but he surprisingly pulled it out. I'm glad they put a little bit of randomness in The Red Thirst special rule and disappointed about "buying" death company, I personally think the third edition method for determining Death Company was the best one but eh, what can ya do. I don't like the direction they're going with Mephiston, the "used-to-be" best psyker in the Imperium. It seems like he's becoming more combat killer than psyker at this point, he has the stats of a monsterous creature, no Independent Character, no Feel no Pain, and of course no Invulnerable save. I feel he's gotten even worse from the last edition but, eh. I also am not a fan of all the artificer armour they're handing out all willy nilly to everyone but captains. It doesn't really make any sense to me from a fluff point, before the only people who had golden armour was Dante, his honour guard, a few select captains, and the Chief Librarian. Now you can have an entire army of them, not much of an honour anymore eh?

For a while I heard rumors of successor support for Angels Sanguine, Flesh Tearers, and another one I don't care about, but apparently they only kept the Flesh Tearers. That's another big disappointment considering after my Tyranids are done I was going to do an Angels Sanguine army. In fact my old Blood Angels are being stripped now, but that doesn't mean I can't.

On a nonrelated note, Unclean Studios got their first official commision a couple days ago. A space wolf army from a friend of the other half of the Studios. Unclean Studios is going to be a mostly terrain and basing company but I think we'll easily be able to tackle a few painting commisions on the side.

Thanks for reading, and as always, come back for more!

New Bases! (Tyranids, part 7)

I finally decided on my bases about a week ago, and went with a digestion pool theme. At first it seemed too complicated but at one point I just said screw and started on them. I made about 25 and then I cast the rest. I then painted them all in one go and here they are!

As you can see, the shade is a little off but the colour is somewhere inbetween the two greens. Let me know what you think!

Old Tyrant, New Look (Tyranids, part 6)

Well I decided to take an old friend, the fearsome DakkaTyrant and fix him up for the new army. He's not as good anymore because of the lack of Living Ammunition, which was one of my favorite rules, but he might still be worth something. Anyway, the pictures:

Well that's all I got for now, let me know what you think and be sure to come back for more!

Tyranids (part V)

It's been a while but I've got some work on my 'Nids done. I managed to paint three Zoanthropes and a couple Warriors. I am a bit disappointed in the new warriors, I personally think that 2 wounds would be plenty if they were T5, but now a lucky powerfist that wounds three times can take out an entire squad. But, it is what it is. I really like the new Zoanthropes, especially their new Force Organization slot. Once again no bases but they're mostly painted. Pictures!

And then some Photoshop magic!

Thanks for reading, more to come soon!

A little treat (Tyranids, part 4)

Today I decided to give myself a little treat and put some paint on my Malanthrope. I got him mostly done but I haven't decided what I could use him as in the new codex, maybe one of the Doom guys. Anyway, here's some pictures:

Let me know what you think! Thanks for reading, and more to come!

Tyranids (part III)

A couple days ago I painted some Hormagaunts, which look awesome in the new book, a little bummed about the lack of leaping but oh well still awesome and cheap. I'm thinking a few 20man poisoned squads would be very effective at heavy infantry when combined with the rerolling of 1s to hit. Anyway I have them done except for the faces and bases so here they are:

The darker guys are ones I tested before I decided on a definite scheme. And just for the record, those aren't the bases I'm going to use but just what I'm painting them on. Well that's it for now, come back for more!

Tyranids (part 2)

Well I decided to go ahead and try to paint another Carnifex. This one is a Screamer-Killer, before they were mostly useless with new codex. For the most part I'm a bit confused about the new codex, I mean it's a solid codex and all, it just doesn't feel like Tyranids though. I miss all the options and stat changes and a different weapon profile depending on the wielder. But maybe it's a good thing but it's still something to get used to. Anyway, the pictures:

Let me know what you think! Thanks for reading!

Tyranids (part 1)

Well I'm back now, and lately I've been starting back on my 'Nids. I decided that my colour scheme would be simpler than before so I looked around the webs for some inspiration and found some light-skinnded, green carapace looking guys that I like. I don't remember exactly who did them, or I would give them credit so I apologize for that. Anyway, I worked on a Carnifex as a test. I don't think it turned out that bad actually, I have him done except for the base which I haven't decided on how I'm doing yet. Anyway, photos:
